Ivermectin

Quality feed in Cuba is rare.  Horses eat whatever is available.  Often old bread, cake trimmings, as well as cake paper are part of their diet.  Colics are frequent.   Proper management of parasites is essential to keeping horses healthy.  In addition, being tropical and never having a freeze means plenty of parasites all year long.  With the US embargo tubes of ivermectin is hard to come by.  As no deworming products labeled for horses are actually sold in Cuba, one of Cuba’s Horses priorities is to ensure that horses have available to dewormers as well as to develop programs for regular treatment against parasites.
